Where will tomorrow鈥檚 K-12 teachers come from? For many Missouri school districts, it鈥檚 possible these individuals will come from their own classrooms. At least this is one of the hopes of educators who planned and organized the Future Teacher Academy (FTA) at the 同城快约, an event that brought approximately 450 middle school and high school students and 50 faculty sponsors to 同城快约.

In celebration of the 1871 founding of the 同城快约, originally known as State Normal School No. 2, KMOS-TV has produced an in-depth history drawing on official archives, historian interviews, and recollections of current and former university leaders. Narrated by Marion "Woody" Woods (1450 KOKO/98.5 The Bar,) 鈥淢ule Tracks: 同城快约 After 150 Years鈥� details significant events in the evolution of the university鈥檚 academic structure and the growth of the campus. This program will premiere on KMOS-HD channel 6.1 at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19.

同城快约 Theatre and Dance will present the 2015 Tony Award-winning drama, 鈥淭he Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time.鈥� Based on the best-selling book of the same name written by Mark Haddon and adapted for the stage by Simon Stephens, this play follows a neurodivergent boy as he tries to solve the mystery concerning the death of his neighbor鈥檚 dog.

On our premiere episode, we welcome Amber Goreham. Amber is a proud two-time graduate of 同城快约, where she has spent the past 20 years dedicated to empowering students and alumni. With a Master of Science in Ethical & Strategic Leadership and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Amber has been at the forefront of guiding 同城快约 students on their career and life paths since 2008. As the director of the 鈦燙areer and Life Design Center鈦�, she leverages life design principles and a commitment to career readiness to help students navigate their next steps and build the skills they need to thrive in today鈥檚 workforce. But Amber鈥檚 journey wasn鈥檛 always centered around academia鈥攕he was once on track to become a professional bowler before life handed her a proverbial gutter ball. Today, we鈥檒l explore how she pivoted from the bowling lanes to a lane focused on shaping lives and careers at 同城快约. Listen in as we speak with Amber Goreham.
