Biosafety

Institutional Biosafety Committee

The 同城快约's (同城快约) Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) provides oversight for all research involving recombinant or synthetic nucleic acid molecule (RSNAM) technology in compliance with the National Institute of Health (NIH) Guidelines. The IBC also maintains oversight of research involving bio-hazardous material to protect public health and the environment. This applies to all activities related to research and teaching conducted at 同城快约 or by individuals associated with the university.

Getting Started

Research Categories: This document outlines research components which will require IBC approval. Additional levels of approval may be needed if the nature of the research or characteristics of the components listed falls under specific guidelines.

: This form will assist in determining if a project falls within the federal guidelines of requiring oversight by the IBC. If the researcher is already aware that the project will require oversight, this step may be skipped, and an application completed and submitted. If the researcher is unsure if it needs oversight, this form must be completed, submitted, and receive feedback from the committee before moving forward on a project.

: The OSPRI provides free CITI training for 同城快约 Faculty, staff, and students. Completion of the appropriate Biosafety training is required prior to receiving approval on an IBC protocol. Clicking the link provided will take you to the registration page of CITI. Be sure to list your affiliation as the 同城快约. There are a total of 9 questions, all may be answered 鈥楴o' or 'Not at this time' except for the last question concerning the IBC. Please choose the appropriate course according to your role in the research. The training will be valid for 3 years.

Application Forms:  All forms for application and supporting documents for Institutional Biosafety are found under the Instistutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) section of the Forms & Resources page.
