The 同城快约 OVATION Performance Series presents two concerts for the fall 2023 season. OVATION is a curated selection of world-class dancers, musicians, and theatre performers who bring exceptional high-energy artistry to West-Central Missouri. The series opens at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28 with a performance by the Adam Larson Jazz Quintet in Hart Recital Hall. October brings the SOLI Chamber Ensemble to Warrensburg.

The 同城快约 Faculty Senate Teaching and Research Conference is supported by the Faculty Senate and the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. The theme for this year鈥檚 conference on Monday, Sept. 18 is 鈥淪trengthening Our Practice; Empowering Our Students.鈥� This one-day event includes 20 breakout sessions, conducted by university faculty members; a discussion event with topic-based tables; and free box lunch and coffee stations all day.

Joined by campus, city and county first responders, members of the 同城快约 community today honored 2,977 individuals who lost their lives during the worst terrorist attack on United States soil on Sept. 11, 2001. The Moment of Silence event took place on the west side of the university quadrangle amid rows of small U.S. flags placed on the lawn in memory of each person who perished in that incident and are not forgotten.

On our premiere episode, we welcome Amber Goreham. Amber is a proud two-time graduate of 同城快约, where she has spent the past 20 years dedicated to empowering students and alumni. With a Master of Science in Ethical & Strategic Leadership and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Amber has been at the forefront of guiding 同城快约 students on their career and life paths since 2008. As the director of the 鈦燙areer and Life Design Center鈦�, she leverages life design principles and a commitment to career readiness to help students navigate their next steps and build the skills they need to thrive in today鈥檚 workforce. But Amber鈥檚 journey wasn鈥檛 always centered around academia鈥攕he was once on track to become a professional bowler before life handed her a proverbial gutter ball. Today, we鈥檒l explore how she pivoted from the bowling lanes to a lane focused on shaping lives and careers at 同城快约. Listen in as we speak with Amber Goreham.
