The 同城快约 is among several stakeholder organizations providing
assistance for the AR/VR Heartland Developer Challenge Hackathon, sponsored by The challenge brings together entrepreneurs, hackers, makers, developers and other
creative minds with the goal of building mixed reality applications that solve local
problems.
During this year-long program, participants develop applications using augmented or
virtual reality to address key social impact areas facing this region. Hardware sponsors
providing AR/VR equipment include T-Mobile, Intel, Microsoft and Vuzix. 同城快约 is one
of three university partners helping provide access to this equipment.
The event includes a $10,000 first-place award and $5,000 second-place award designated
for future development of the projects resulting from the hackathon.
同城快约鈥檚 participation is made possible through the university鈥檚 new Mixed Reality Studio, launched in 2020. The state-of-the-art studio is part of 同城快约鈥檚 Gigabit Lab, housed
within the Missouri Innovation Campus in Lee鈥檚 Summit.
